1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing, browsing, registering for an account, or purchasing digital invitation services through Invitation Studio (“we,” “us,” “our,” or “the Platform”), you (“User,” “Couple,” or “Customer”) agree to be legally bound by these Terms and Conditions.
If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must discontinue use of the platform immediately. If you are creating an invitation on behalf of a couple, you represent and warrant that you have full authorization from both individuals to enter into this agreement.
2. Description of the Digital Service
Invitation Studio provides a cloud-based software service that allows couples to:
- Select developer-crafted interactive wedding invitation templates.
- Personalize couple details, ceremony dates, event locations, Google Maps links, photos, background audio, and Sinhala blessings.
- Preview changes in real time with an accurate 60fps mobile phone chassis simulator.
- Configure custom guest RSVP criteria (headcount, dietary needs, contact numbers, messages).
- Purchase and publish the invitation to a dedicated vanity URL (
invitationstudio.lk/invite/[slug]) accompanied by high-contrast downloadable QR codes. - Monitor real-time guest RSVP responses, messages, and engagement metrics via a password-protected status dashboard.
3. User Accounts & Security
To save drafts and publish invitations, you must authenticate through our secure identity provider (Clerk). You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access or security breach.
4. Vanity URL Slugs & Publication Rights
During setup, you may select a custom web address slug (e.g., amali-and-kasun).
- Reservation & Lock: A slug is tentatively reserved during drafting, but is formally locked to your invitation only upon confirmed payment and publication.
- Appropriate Conduct: You may not select slugs that are defamatory, vulgar, deceptive, or that infringe on trademarks or intellectual property rights of third parties. We reserve the right to reclaim or modify any slug that violates this policy.
- Stability: To prevent breaking printed QR codes and shared WhatsApp links, changing a slug post-publication requires contacting support.
5. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
A. Your Content
You retain full ownership of all photographs, couple biographies, text, and personal assets uploaded to your invitation. By uploading content, you grant Invitation Studio a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license strictly to host, format, cache, and display the content to your guests as intended by your invitation.
B. Content Warranties
You represent and warrant that you own or possess the necessary rights, licenses, and permissions for all uploaded photos and audio tracks. You agree not to upload copyrighted music or professional photography without the creator's authorization.
C. Platform Intellectual Property
Invitation Studio and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the platform, including software code, interactive templates, UI layout designs, animations, brand marks, and documentation. You may not reverse-engineer, copy, scrape, or resell our templates or software.
6. Pricing, Payments & Taxes
Pricing for publishing an invitation is clearly displayed on our catalog and checkout screens in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR) or designated currencies.
- One-Time Fee: Each published invitation is charged as a single upfront fee. We do not charge recurring subscriptions or automatic card renewal fees.
- Payment Processing: Transactions are handled securely via PayHere. You agree to provide accurate billing details and acknowledge that transactions are subject to PayHere's terms and security validation.
- Duplicate Prevention: Our platform employs server-side idempotency safeguards to prevent accidental double-charging.
7. Hosting Period & Service Availability
Published invitations remain live and accessible to your guests on the web until the designated invitationExpiryDate (typically up to 30 days after your wedding date, or as selected).
While we strive to ensure 99.9% uptime, we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. We are not liable for temporary service interruptions caused by routine maintenance, telecommunications outages, or third-party cloud infrastructure disruptions beyond our reasonable control.
8. Limitation of Liability
Important Liability Limitation:
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law in Sri Lanka, Invitation Studio shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including loss of data, guest attendance discrepancies, or emotional distress arising out of the use or inability to use the platform. Our aggregate total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total amount actually paid by you for the specific invitation in dispute.
9. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution
These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of Colombo or Kandy, Sri Lanka.
